We have now completed 2 out of 4 PRIDE (Parent Resources, Information, Development & Education) training. We are on our way to becoming adoptive parents!

This weekend we covered topics like:

• Local Adoption - Private & Public
• International Adoption
• Attachment
• Loss
• Abuse
• Adoption Legislation
• Parenting Skills & Discipline
• And so much more!

We have really enjoyed our training from Sofie Stergianis (www.adoptioneducation.ca) and her team. It has been really interactive and laid back making it an easy atmosphere to learn in. There are 38 people in our class and it has been great to connect with other future adoptive parents across the GTA. We are so pleased to have other adoptive families as a support!

We are still looking for an International Adoption agency to work with. We were able to get a chart that contains all the information about adopting from all the countries that you can adopt from in Ontario, along with the requirements and agencies you go through. It was so much easier seeing it in that format compared to having to figure it out yourself looking through each website and program.

CAS - we are still planning on working with CAS for our first adoption though we are being overwhelmed with informaiton about the process.

We have been given a great glider for the nursery - so we are excited about cleaning and fixing that up this week in preparation! Well - I guess that's the current Williams Adoption update!
