More Next Steps!

We had our first home study interview today. We were asked questions about how we met, things about our relationship, how we communicate, who does what around the house, what makes us tick, things we like to do with our free time... It was a get-to-know you session. We gave a tour of our house... We also had to fill out a huge questionnaire about our families, how we were raised and parented, about our relationship, and on each other which was sorta strange.

We booked the rest of our home study interviews. Our last is on Friday, June 5th and then she needs 2 weeks to write and submit the report to CAS and then from there it is all up to CAS.

Our practitioner said that it is a huge benefit to us that we are young. Most families that adopt through CAS are in their late thirties and fourties. She said that many of them are adopting because of infertility and are financially drained and choose adoption as another way to build their family. Because many of those people are much older, that a birthmother is more likely wanting to place their child with a younger couple... She said that we have a higher likelyhood to get a baby than we think. So we are still open to a child up to 2 years old - BUT we have a higher chance of getting a baby than we originally thought!

So that's our updated news for now!

Wow! I had no idea that you guys were planning on adoption! That is so wonderful. It's also so encouraging to read this blog and hear your stories of trust and faithfulness to how you feel God is building your family. I'm thrilled for you!
