or Ethiopia...

After receiving more information about all the programs at Imagine - Ethiopia is now in the running.  The reason is that we found out the Ghana and Zambia programs are rather new, which is not a good thing when it comes to adoption.  The longer the organization has been working with a particular country, the easier it gets.  The orphanage and baby house in Ethiopia is well established and they also have full time canadian staff there overseeing each and every adoption.  Hearing so many horror stories about the things that can go wrong, having that comfort is helpful.

Oh Zambia....
We also found out that because of the political unrest in many of the nations surrounding Zambia there is even more of a chance of there being changes and unreliability.  They say that the most recent change is that you may have to spend upwards of 6 months living in Zambia before taking your child back home to Canada.... That's a lot longer than the 10 weeks in Ecuador!

This End of the City...
Though we love everything about Imagine adoption and the incredible help they have given us, we have looked at a few other agencies.  There are FEW in Ontario.  There is only one other one that we would be able to work with and they are in the east end of Toronto.  Very frustrating.  Working with Imagine in Cambridge is just under an hour's drive.  Too bad there aren't more options!
